JOB SUMMARY
This position requires a motivated and results-driven individual to support driving sales for the organization. The Business Development Manager (BDM) will play a pivotal role in identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities for clinical research services in both outsourcing (CRO/FSP) and resourcing solutions. This position requires excellent communication skills, scientific understanding, and the ability to build strong relationships with potential clients in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors. They will spend time researching information for target accounts, conducting outbound calls, sending company information, and setting up meetings with potential customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify and reach out to potential clients through phone, email, and online channels.
- Qualify leads and schedule meetings or calls for Business Development Directors.
- Maintain and update Bullhorn or relevant client management system with accurate and timely client information and communication tracking.
- Respond to inbound inquiries and provide initial information about Advanced Clinical’s services.
- Work closely with marketing to follow up on campaigns and event leads (e.g., trade shows, webinars).
- Understand company service offerings including all functional services, resourcing services, and CRO services including the use of vendors and partners.
- Build and nurture a pipeline of qualified opportunities to support the sales funnel.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Proposals, Operations, Project Management) to support client requests.
- Track key performance metrics and meet/exceed activity and conversion targets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in either clinical research services or in the field of inside sales, including lead generation or customer service, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare industry.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of clinical research and drug development processes preferred.
- Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Bullhorn, HubSpot).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with a team-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (e.g., GCP, ICH).
- Experience with CRO services or clinical trial operations a plus.
- Understanding of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.
