The Director, Business Development (DBD) is responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding strategic partnerships within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device industries, with a dedicated focus on GMP Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Technical Operations. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their regulatory, operational, and manufacturing challenges while positioning Advanced Clinical's consulting and staffing solutions to support critical business initiatives.
The DBD proactively identifies new business opportunities, strengthens existing client relationships, and remains informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, and competitive market activity. Working closely with leadership, the DBD develops and executes both short- and long-term growth strategies within their assigned territory, with an emphasis on supporting organizations through GMP manufacturing expansion, quality systems, validation programs, inspection readiness, manufacturing scale-up, technology transfer, digital transformation, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Success in this role requires building relationships with Quality, Manufacturing, Validation, Regulatory, and Technical Operations leaders while maintaining accurate client activity within Bullhorn CRM and supporting the sales process through opportunity management, candidate submissions, and strategic account planning. The DBD is expected to establish Advanced Clinical as a preferred partner for organizations seeking expertise across Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, CQV, Computer System Validation (CSV/CSA), Process Validation, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, CMC, and GMP Technical Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships that result in the expansion of existing accounts and acquisition of new business.
- Execute strategic initiatives that increase awareness of Advanced Clinical's GMP Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Technical Operations consulting and staffing capabilities.
- Identify immediate and long-term client needs through proactive business development, lead generation, strategic follow-up, and consultative selling to drive profitable growth.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with Quality, Validation, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Technical Operations, and Supply Chain leaders within the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device industries to create sustainable business opportunities.
- Monitor key business development metrics and leverage data to maximize sales effectiveness, pipeline management, and territory performance.
- Support strategic sales initiatives by participating in client meetings, capability presentations, proposals, and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses.
- Maintain accurate client, prospect, opportunity, and activity information within Bullhorn CRM while ensuring timely documentation of all sales activities and pipeline updates.
- Represent Advanced Clinical at industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and client meetings, while executing timely and meaningful follow-up activities.
- Achieve and exceed annual revenue, gross profit, and business development objectives established by management.
- Manage opportunities through the client contracting process while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and timely execution of agreements.
- Partner closely with recruiting and delivery teams to ensure high-quality, timely candidate submissions that meet client expectations.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing staffing partnerships into broader strategic engagements, including Functional Service Provider (FSP), managed services, consulting, and project-based delivery models.

Qualifications:

Experience:
- 5+ years of business development or sales experience within the staffing, consulting, or professional services industry. Experience supporting the Life Sciences industry is strongly preferred, with exposure to GMP Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Technical Operations, or Regulatory functions considered a significant advantage.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support client meetings, conferences, industry events, and business development activities.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative, team-first mindset and a strong desire to build lasting client relationships.
- Highly organized with exceptional time management and territory planning skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced utilizing CRM platforms, preferably Bullhorn, to manage sales activity, pipeline, and client relationships.
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant business development experience.

Pay Rate: $83,980.41 - $102,876.00 - $121,771.59 Annually
The compensation range listed above is provided in euros to maintain consistency across our global job postings. For employees hired in countries that do not use the euro, Advanced Group will convert the range to the applicable local currency before a final candidate is selected. Final compensation will be determined in accordance with local market conditions, internal equity, applicable regulations, and our overall compensation philosophy.
